the Aap Ki App Contest!

Aap ki App?
AapKiApp is a contest organized by Datawind, inviting all budding app developers in India to make apps for the Aakash tablet. This is a nationwide opportunity for all students and amateurs to showcase their creative energy and technical expertise. Aakash is a tablet for the masses and we want to involve the student community in creating solutions for the Indian market. Students have the capacity to think out of the box and create solutions that escape the minds of technology professionals. We want to harness this inherent strength in the Indian student population and use it to create meaningful applications for use by the general population.

The top five applications submitted will be awarded a prize money of Rs. 1 lakh each. These five applications will be pre-installed on the device and advertizing revenue from these applications will be shared with the app developers. This will help bring these developers to the limelight and also kick start their entrepreneurial journeys. This initiative will give students an opportunity to be a part of history, as the next billion users join the internet age.

Last date for submitting entries is February 20th 2012.

Last day for Final submissions is February 29th 2012.
